Bachelor's Completion Requirements

  • Admission to our bachelor's-completion program in Human Development requires an associate's degree or minimum of 60 semester units. Students are allowed bring in up to a maximum of 90 units with a grade of "C" or higher (on a 4.0 grading scale). Acceptable transfer credits must meet all requirements listed in the BA Transfer Policy and meet the specific course requirements set forth by the school. Students are allowed up to 12 semester hours as a contingency upon admittance.
  • Admission to our bachelor's-completion program in Early Childhood Education requires an associate's degree or minimum of 60 semester units. Students are allowed bring in up to a maximum of 84 units with a grade of "C" or higher (on a 4.0 grading scale). Acceptable transfer credits must meet all requirements listed in the BA Transfer Policy and meet the specific course requirements set forth by the school. Students are allowed up to 12 semester hours as a contingency upon admittance.
  • Completed application form
  • Personal statement. This statement will be used as a writing sample, be sure your statement is integrative and cohesive. Select only one of the questions listed below to write a response. Ensure your statement is 500 words typed, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman. Schools of Education and Human Development applicants may choose any question to answer.
    1. Describe two challenges in your life you have experienced. Explain what those challenges mean to you and how those challenges will help you pursue your professional goals at Pacific Oaks College. Incorporate one source in your response as a means to support your statement. Lastly, explain how will you contribute and uphold the Pacific Oaks mission and core values during your course work and professional development.
    2. Describe a time when you needed to work in a team. Explain what skills are needed to be a part of a team and if working in a team environment is an effective method for learning. Incorporate one source in your response as a means to support your statement. Lastly, explain how will you contribute and uphold the Pacific Oaks mission and core values during your course work and professional development.
    3. Describe a challenge you have experienced with technology. Explain how that specific experience will aid you in your education and further use of technology as a learning tool. Incorporate one source in your response as a means to support your statement. Lastly, explain how will you contribute and uphold the Pacific Oaks mission and core values during your course work and professional development.
  • Work and volunteer experience summary. Typed on a separate sheet of paper, please list the positions; employers; and ethnicity/ages of people with whom you worked; dates of employment (to/from), and a short description of your duties.
  • Sealed official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. If a transcript does not include work in progress, submit a copy of your current registration. If you are currently completing a B.A. program, you must send a letter from the institution stating your expected date of graduation. Students who do not have a bachelor's degree must meet the requirements for our bachelor's-completion program.
  • Non-refundable application fee of $55. Pacific Oaks College accepts personal checks, money orders, and cashier's checks.

All documents must be received before your application will be processed. It is your responsibility to see that all required materials are received by Pacific Oaks College. Your files and documents will be retained for three years. No documents will be returned nor copied after submission. Faxes of the application and accompanying pieces will not be accepted.
