Class Year/Degree: B.A. '88/M.A. '90 in Human Development

Current Job: Life Coach

Impact of Pacific Oaks: I have spent 15 years in the most perfect and rewarding career as a faculty member at Pacific Oaks. Without Pacific Oaks, I would not be embarking on an exciting and fulfilling new career as a life coach.

I have a strong foundation in social justice and honoring of diversity, as well as the potential and uniqueness of every individual. I have an understanding of human development; theoretical as well as the subtleties and nuances. I have extensive knowledge and expertise about interpersonal communication skills and dynamics. I have experience and knowledge about teaching online classes. I have over 20 years of memories of working with students who are giving, compassionate individuals, actively working to make the world a better place. Thank goodness I have Pacific Oaks in my life.

I am now a life coach, drawing on all that I've learned through my various relationships with Pacific Oaks as a student, teaching assistant, adjunct faculty, visiting faculty, core faculty, consultant for the Credit for Life Experience option, and now again as adjunct faculty. The combination of human development, working with others, teaching and learning for 20 years has provided me with what I need to continue to be of service as well as blessed to be able to grow myself as I grow older.

Influential Class or Faculty Member: As a student at Pacific Oaks, from 1987 - 1990, I was blessed to have my life touched by Liz Prescott, my first teacher; Renatta Cooper and Louise Derman-Sparks were mentors as well as inspiring teachers. As a member of the faculty I have looked to Betty Jones as an inspiration of how to play, grow and grow older gracefully.

Advice for Prospective Students: If you're interested in transformation, you've come to the right place. Be open to the disequilibrium and trust the process.
