Greetings fellow Pacific Oaks Students,
As your newly elected President for the 2012-2013 SGA term, I would like to take a moment and welcome our new and returning students and wish you all a wonderful and productive summer session. I would also like to formally introduce your new team of SGA members and share some of our intentions for the coming year: Laura Wallerstein will be serving as your Vice President, Charlene Caracas will be serving as your Secretary, and Hope Kinney will be serving as your Human Development Member-At-Large.
In the coming months we will be adding new members to the team to ensure that all positions are filled and each discipline is represented on our staff. However, in this moment, we would just like to express our excitement and anticipation for the year ahead.
As your elected representatives, SGA not only looks forward to serving as your student advocates, but to providing events and educational programming to add to the enrichment of your PO experience. We feel strongly that simply because PO is a smaller, non-traditional college, that it should not prevent us from collectively creating a dynamic and interactive social-educational experience.
Moving forward, will be asking for your input as to the sort of programming you would like to see, and by late August, we will be releasing a fall calendar of events. We hope this will enable you to plan ahead in order to accommodate your schedule and your desire to participate in various events.
We also look forward to strengthening our ties with our distance learners and our Salinas cohorts. Please stay tuned and keep up with us as we explore new ways to integrate our campus activities and our broader student community.
Exciting times are ahead, and as PO grows in both size and educational capacity, we hope you will join us in creating a meaningful and enjoyable PO experience.
