Dr. Carl Kalani Beyer joined Pacific Oaks College in 2011, assuming the role of dean of the newly launched School of Education and the School of Human Development and Family Studies. Now in his fifth decade as an education professional, Dr. Beyer has brought to this new position more than 40 years experience in higher education and public education. Prior to joining the Pacific Oaks senior administration, he served as dean of the School of Education at National University, where he also held the rank of professor, and as chair of the Teacher Education Department at Concordia University in Chicago.
During his 34 years in public education, he taught mathematics and social studies, coached football and supervised numerous extra-curricular activities.
He holds a Ph.D. in curriculum design from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
