Bio
Judy Magee serves as Core Faculty in the School of Human Development and is the Faculty Advisor for all BA and MA students in Human Development Online programs. She has been teaching for Pacific Oaks since 1993 and was an integral member of the team that developed the original Pacific Oaks model of online education from 1996-2010, known for its groundbreaking work in transformative student engagement and its innovative approach to online orientation and support. Her interest in the development and delivery of online courses continues to focus on interactive learning, reflective practice and addressing the psychological barriers of the digital divide.

Judy’s background prior to joining the Pacific Oaks faculty included Primary and Early Childhood Education, program administration, prenatal and parent education and family support. Her long-term scholarship interest centers around holistic curriculum development for adult learners and liberatory teaching. She is currently completing Post-Graduate Certification in Interpersonal Neurobiology with a specialty in Educational Neuroscience.

Judy wears several hats at Pacific Oaks, including chair of the Assessment Committee, however connecting with students is her favorite part of the day. Whether she’s helping students find their voices in the classroom, unpack complex concepts, brainstorm thesis topics or just find the right button to click online, she finds sharing the Pacific Oaks journey with students the most rewarding hat of all.
