Students and Alumnae/i Land Jobs and Interviews
at Pacific Oaks College Career Fair!
On Wednesday, April 19, 2006 over 32 representatives arrived at the Eureka campus to recruit Pacific Oaks students and alumnae/i as potential employees. A total of nineteen hiring organizations were represented, covering the fields of Early Childhood Education, K-12, Special Education, and Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as Social and Community Services. Approximately, 70 students and alumnae/i took advantage of this excellent networking opportunity, making the event a huge success.
The Career Fair, sponsored by the Center for Student Achievement, Resources and Enrichment (CARE), was the first of its kind to be hosted at the college. Employer interest was overwhelming, indicating how much Pacific Oaks is valued in the community and how well Pacific Oaks students and alumnae/i are received by employers in their field. CARE plans to sponsor this event annually and expects to increase the number of employers next year.


The resulting job placements were a true measure of the event’s success. Several organizations held same-day interviews and dozens of students were able to schedule interviews on other days. A few students and alums were hired on the spot and a number were hired in the days following the fair.
