2008 Commencement - FAQ
Where will the 2008 Commencement be held?
The Commencement Ceremony will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Pasadena Civic Center - 300 E. Green Street, Pasadena, CA 91101.
Graduates students should arrive no later than 10:20 am for the 10:30 am rehearsal. Upon arrival, please check in at the Gold Room. Check-in will be in the Gold Room. Please bring your cap and gown to rehearsal. Hangers will be available in the Gold Room. The rehearsal will begin promptly at 10:30am.
You will be asked to sit with the audience during the rehearsal. After rehearsal, please go to the Gold Room for your seating assignment. Please remember that the doors will close during the procession which begins at 2:00 pm. Late guest arrivals will be allowed after the graduates have taken their seats on stage. Please share this with your guests.

Cap and gown is optional. You can order through Jostens at (800) 854-7464 or on-line at www.jostens.com/college. Please make sure you have your correct measurements prior to ordering your cap and gown. ALL ORDERS SHOULD BE PLACED BY APRIL 19TH TO INSURE PROMPT DELIVERY. IF ORDERED AFTER THIS DATE, YOU MAY INCUR AN ADDITIONAL 10.00 RUSH FEE.
When you arrive at the Commencement line-up area (Gold Room) for rehearsal, you will be given a Name Card with your name, degree, specialization and sponsors names. Please phonetically spell your full name on the card. Please keep this card with you during the graduation ceremony. As you walk across the stage, hand your name card to the announcer.

When your degree is posted, your diploma will be printed. Once all holds are cleared the Registrar’s Office will mail your diploma to you (approx. 6 to 8 weeks after your degree is posted and based upon when we received your graduation application. All address changes should be mailed to the Registrar’s Office to insure your diploma is mailed to the correct address.
The Office of Advancement will host the graduation brunch immediately following rehearsal. The brunch will begin promptly at 11:30am. Brunch will be served on the front patio of the Civic. The brunch is for graduates only.
Graduation invitations and class rings can be ordered directly from Jostens at (800)854-7464 or go online to order at www.jostens.com/college. Josten’s will also be on Campus at 45 Eureka, Monday, 4/14 from 2-6pm in the Atrium. Please take advantage of the ring sale prices which will end on 5/17. There will be a Josten’s representative at the ceremony on Saturday, May 17th.

Our photographer is Interstate Candid Photography, Inc. They will take student photos and tape the ceremony. A class picture will be taken promptly at 1:00pm followed by Departmental group pictures.
Students who wish to have personal pictures taken by the photographer should indicate this on their “Graduation Confirmation” by checking the box next to “personal graduation photo.

What else do I need to know?
Balloons and confetti are not allowed in the Auditorium
Flowers - Commencement Flowers (Vendor) will be selling flowers at the graduation ceremony.
Juice/Water – There will be a vendor selling refreshments for your guest. Water is available in water coolers inside the Gold Room.
