Advising
The Human Development Faculty and Staff endeavor to pay close attention to each student as a unique learner. As such, we want to help the student find ways to identify particular dreams, interests or skills and educational/professional or personal goals related to their Pacific Oaks College experience. We want to help the student be as successful as they are capable of being.
Our advising responsibilities include: monitoring student performance, helping students understand program requirements, and supporting students as they move toward completion of their academic program. The advising relationship also provides an opportunity to help students begin to think about what it means to be a college graduate, about the value of their efforts, and about the difference between being trained and being educated. This unique advising relationship plays a key role in the educational experiences of students in the Human Development Department.
