B.A. in Human Development and Teaching Credential
At Pacific Oaks we believe in the creative process of becoming a teacher. The Teacher Education Program (TEP) is designed to prepare our students as public or non-public school teachers. Our programs are designed to respond effectively to the diverse cultural and linguistic perspectives and needs of our increasingly heterogeneous population.
The B.A. in Human Development at Pacific Oaks can be earned in combination with the California Preliminary Multiple Subject English Learner (MSEL) Credential or the Preliminary Education Specialist Credential (ESC) in Mild to Moderate disabilities. Utilizing the combination of a B.A degree and Credential allows one to save over 30 units.
Students must transfer at least 70 semester units of general education courses (see Transfer Requirements) for traditional admission or 60 semester units of general education for the ABLE admissions option. A combination of transfer credit and Pacific Oaks courses totaling 124 semester units is required for the awarding of the B.A. degree and a teaching credential. A passing score on all sections of the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) is also required for admission to our Teacher Education Program.
For more information, call the Office of Admissions at (626) 397-1349 or (800)684-0900 or email us at admissions@pacificoaks.edu
