Credentials Offered 

The Teacher Education Program at Pacific Oaks College offers two credentials:

 

 

The Preliminary Multiple Subject English Learner-2042 (MSEL-2042) teaching credential qualifies candidates to teach K-6 multiple subjects in self-contained classrooms. The Preliminary MSEL is the first level of a two-level credential. Candidates complete the second level through an Induction program in their district of employment.

 

 

The Preliminary Level I and Professional Level II Education Specialist Credential in Mild to Moderate Disabilites with English Learner Authorization qualifies candidates to teach students with mild to moderate disabilities in grades K-12. The Preliminary Level I ESC:MM is the first level of a two-level credential.  After earning Level I, studetns have 120 days to enroll in an Institution of Higher Learning (IHA)for the Professional Clear Level II. The Professional Clear Level II Education Specialist Credential can be completed up to five years after obtaining Level I. 

Applications are accepted year-round.  Students may begin either program on a part-time or full-time basis.  Students can combine their credential program with a BA or an MA degree in Human Development.  For more information about the application process please visit the Admissions Office web pages; or speak to an Admissions counselor by calling: (800) 684-0900.
