A credential is a document that authorizes instruction in a self-contained classroom. California-prepared applicants may not apply directly to CCTC for a teaching credential. The CCTC issues the credential; however, an institution of higher education makes the recommendation for the credential. Pacific Oaks College offers assistance with the following types of credentials:
Preliminary Level I MSEL-2042: Muliple Subject English Learner Credential
ESC:MMEL Level I & Level II: Education Specialist Credential in Mild to Moderate Disabilities with English Learner Authorization
Internship Credential: MSEL and ESC:MMEL
Upon completing the following steps please contact Elena Fernandez to schedule an appointment for recommendation to California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
Advising and Exit Interview
Meet with your advisor to ensure that you have satisfied all requirements for your credential program and that your student file is complete with all applicable test scores, transcripts, waivers, and certifications.
Transcripts
Request official online transcripts from Pacific Oaks College to Elena Fernandez. All final grades must be posted.
About Recommendation
Elena Fernandez will need to have:
* Complete student file
* Official online transcript
* $35 processing fee (check, cash or money order, payable to Pacific Oaks College).
Please note all recommendations are made online. After a formal recommendation, CTC contacts the recommendee via email to complete the credentialing process. The CCTC credentialing fee is $57 (Visa, MasterCard, and debit cards accepted). CCTC will post the credential at www.ctc.ca.gov within 10 - 14 days.
Effective September 1, 2008, CTC will only provide credentials through an online view and print process. CTC will no longer mail these documents.
