The Self-Paced Program

A student in the Self-Paced program works with an advisor to plan a program of study, usually part-time.  There is more choice about number of units the student will be taking per semester, however, many MFT courses must be taken in a prescribed sequence.

The Self-Paced program emphasizes multiple cultural and environmental contexts for understanding the way clients and therapists relate to each other and to the mental health system generally. There is a strong emphasis on social justice and diversity issues, as well as the role of the child in the family system.
