Join us for the second annual Men & Child Care Conference: “Advocacy to Action” taking place at our San Jose campus on Saturday, October 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This conference will be full of informative and enlightening sessions including:
- Pop-Up Play: Learn what the Men and Child Care Committee is doing in Sacramento county to support play for young children. Guest speakers for this session include: Kathy Fleming, from FairyTale Town and Mike Kurtz from the Sacramento Valley Chapter of CAAEYC.
- Male Engagement: The DAD Project will share exciting strategies for father involvement.
- Recruitment, Retention, and Development of Men in Early Childhood Education: This lively discussion will be led by Bryan Nelson who is the founding director of MenTeach bringing years of expertise and thought leader to this topic. Additionally, Dr. Paul Morehouse will discuss how music makes a difference for teachers.
There is a cost associated with this event: For early-bird AEYC members and Early Childhood Education students the cost is $50. For early bird non-members/non-students the fee is $60.
