On the first Sunday in June, the School of Education hosted a giant Block Party in celebration of the National Day of the Child. The College’s suite B classrooms were filled with Legos, Lincoln Logs, wooden blocks, cardboard blocks, blocks made from trees, foam blocks, plastic blocks, and so much more! About 50 families from the community joined in on the fun. With children ranging in ages from 6 months to ten years, there was something for everyone.
“At Pacific Oaks we value children’s play. We know that when a child is immersed in authentic play, the imagination is set in motion allowing for the opportunity to learn and grow. Our block party brought together the community. We were not only building with blocks but also building relationships,” said Jayanti Tambe.
A special thank you to Jayanti Tambe for bringing this idea to life and to the team that assisted in putting it together.
Todd Hioki from Pacific Oaks Children’s School put together a special video of the day. Click here to view.
