Pacific Oaks College announces Patricia Breen as new provost

dr-patricia-breenPacific Oaks College welcomes Dr. Patricia Breen as its new provost. Breen brings more than 30 years of experience in higher education administration to her role.

Her academic and operational expertise spans a variety of roles, from librarian to campus president. She has also managed diverse higher education environments, from the single campus structure to the multi-campus education system, and from the comprehensive university model to the specialized professional school.

Breen recently assisted Pacific Oaks in preparing for a visit from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), where she demonstrated a clear commitment and dedication to the College and its mission. In her new position, Breen will be responsible for admissions, all academic affairs and the Schools of Education, Human Development, and Cultural and Family Psychology.
Breen’s interests include assessment of and improvement in student learning, adults as learners, and higher education leadership. She is active in the Council for Graduate Schools and has been a consultant-evaluator for the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges and for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Breen’s Ph.D. is in human and organizational development. She also holds an undergraduate degree in English literature, a master’s degree in library science and a master’s degree in business administration.

Dr. Breen has relocated to the Pasadena area with her husband, Bob, and Bad Dog.  They are expecting lots of visits from their children and their families during the winter months.
