Pacific Oaks College alumna Ruth Anne Hammond was recently appointed to the Board of Directors at Families Forward in Pasadena. The organization provides free education and social services to low-income families with children.
Hammond is a consultant for infant and toddler care and education. She has served on the faculty of Pacific Oaks College as a member of the senior adjunct faculty and worked as a master teacher in the Infant/Toddler Parent Program at Pacific Oaks Children’s School. She held these positions for almost 20 years.
During her time at Pacific Oaks Children’s School, she facilitated the learning of hundreds of infants and toddlers and their parents, grandparents, and nannies, as well as supervising her teaching teams and mentoring college students.
Hammond earned her M.A. in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College, specializing in Infant/Toddler Studies and Parent-Community Work. She is the author of “Respecting Babies: A Guide to Educaring for Parents and Professionals” (2019, Zero to Three) and is an RIE® associate and past president, a certified PITC trainer, and a long-time member of Dr. Allan Schore’s interpersonal neurobiology study group.
