The Career Fair is a landmark event presented by the Center for Student Achievement, Resources, and Enrichment (CARE) who, in collaboration with the Pacific Oaks community, is committed to providing a holistic, personalized approach to student success.
Students and Alumni benefited from professional tips and advice provided by the CARE office prior to and during the Career Fair, such as crafting a thoughtful introduction, perfecting an elevator pitch, and researching a prospective employer. The preparation proved successful, with one company representative stating, “Pacific Oaks students are well prepared and are the crème de la crème in their field.”
Recruiters reported that the resumes they collected from attendees looked promising and they will be conducting follow-up outreach with attendees. Several employers scheduled interview appointments during the Career Fair.
Employers in attendance included Pacific Clinics, Shields for Families, LA LGBT Center, The Children’s Center at Caltech, and the Los Angeles Universal Preschool. Employers shared that they look forward to participating in future Career Fairs. As one human resources talent specialist stated, “I see this as a beginning of a great partnership…”
