Pasadena Community Foundation Grant
Pacific Oaks College, in collaboration with the Child Care Directors Alliance and the City of Pasadena Task Force on Early Child Development, is facilitating a $1.3 million relief grant provided by the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF). This funding is available to licensed Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Homes (FCCH) in Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre that were damaged or impacted by the Eaton wildfires – or that have expanded to serve families displaced by the fires. The grant may support expenses such as tuition assistance, staffing, mental health services, capacity building, or regulatory costs. The application deadline is May 23, 2025. We encourage applicants to provide detailed and comprehensive responses to the questions on pages 1 and 2. If additional space is required, please include an extra page as part of the application. Neighborhood Legal Services of LA County (NLSLA) will be providing a FEMA clinic on Thursday, February 20th from 1-4 PM at Pacific Oaks College 45 W. Eureka Street, Pasadena, CA 91103.

A new ECE Distribution Center is hosted at Pacific Oaks College, in collaboration with Pacific Oaks College, county Office for the Advancement of Early Care & Education (OAECE), CCALA, and Options for Learning. to support ECE providers.
ECE providers can pick up free supplies at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena.

Pacific Oaks is planning to reopen the Pasadena campus on Monday, January 13. Leadership will continue monitoring local emergency guidelines including air quality conditions. The safety of our students, staff, and faculty remains our top priority. Any changes in plans will be communicated to the community as soon as possible.

UPDATE 2:
We hope you and your loved ones are safe in the midst of the emergency fire situation in LA County. Many people are experiencing evacuation and disruptions to their lives and the situation is ongoing.
Given the emergency situation, it is important that we come together as a community to support one another. Students, please communicate with your instructors if the fires have caused disruptions impacting your coursework or attendance in online or campus courses. Your instructors will have the most up-to-date information regarding campus course schedules and academic accommodation.
We will continue to provide additional information and resources as they become available. In the interim, please take care of yourselves and each other.

TELUS has activated their 24/7 health community crisis support line due to the wildfires. Students, university staff, and the broader community can call them at 1-877-757-7587. By calling, individuals will receive confidential emotional support and referrals to additional community resources. This is a partner through Lewarmark, our insurance provider for international students. We have confirmed this is completely from for students as well as staff. They reached out to our PDSO to offer to all students and staff.
