I'm Dr. Aliset Perez, a passionate educator and experienced leader with over 18 years of service spanning both K-12 and higher education. My professional journey began in the classroom, where I taught general education and Special Education across multiple grade levels and settings including: 1st and 2nd grade, a primary Special Day Class (grades 1-3), the Resource Specialist Program (K-8), and inclusive environments. I've worked with students with a wide range of learning, behavioral, and developmental needs, and have held roles as an Education Specialist, Instructional Coach, Behavioral Coach, and Program Coordinator.
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development and a Master of Science in Special Education from National University, along with an Autism certificate. I also hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and an Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate Disabilities. I recently completed my Doctorate in Educational Administration and Leadership at La Sierra University, where my research focused on ADHD interventions, educator training, and systemic supports in K-12 schools.
In higher education, I have served as a faculty member, Fieldwork Coordinator, and now Department Chair at Pacific Oaks College. As a Fieldwork Coordinator, I collaborated with partner districts, supervised teacher candidates, and ensured alignment with credentialing standards and clinical practice expectations. I continue to mentor aspiring educators and lead faculty in shaping inclusive, practice-based programs that prepare teacher candidates to meet the diverse needs of today's classrooms.
Education is my passion and purpose. Whether I'm guiding students, supporting colleagues, or leading program initiatives, I am committed to equity, innovation, and the transformative power of teaching and learning.
