Biography

With over a decade of dedicated service as a Youth and Young Adult Educator and Services Leader, I have exemplified a deep commitment to enriching the lives of students, particularly those of color. My journey spans roles in K-12 education as an adjunct in higher education and directing diverse programs to enhance student outcomes. My expertise shines in strategic planning, program development, diversity initiatives, and partnership management, all focused on uplifting students of color, with a particular emphasis on male students. My educators' efforts have been pivotal in increasing graduation rates across elementary, middle, high school, and college levels, particularly among African-American males. My approach integrates organizational efficiency, managing multiple budgets and grants ranging from $1.5M to $5M, and orchestrating impactful events. Core to my philosophy is the empowerment of males of color to become change agents in their communities, fostering an environment of self-discovery and barrier reduction.

In my current role as CEO/Founder of The Achievement Initiative Foundation since 2020, my team and I have been instrumental in driving the organization's mission to serve underserved communities, focusing on boys and young men of color. My leadership encompasses strategic vision, fundraising, program development, community engagement, organizational management, and advocacy. Before this, my experience included impactful roles at Brotherhood Crusade, where I led initiatives for boys and young men of color and college pathways, and at Bishop Conaty-Our Lady of Loretto High School, as Assistant Principal of Student Life, Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Athletic Director for girls and young women of color. My extensive background includes positions as Assistant Dean of Students at Animo Phyllis Wheatley Charter School, Dean of Students at St. Bernard High School, and at the Center for Learning and Unlimited Education Success.

My educational credentials are equally impressive; I hold a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. As a distinguished professional who stands out for my educational and leadership roles and active participation in professional affiliations and volunteer work, I have a deep-rooted commitment to community service and empowerment. With over a decade of dedicated service as a Youth and Young Adult Educator and Services Leader, my professionalism has exemplified a deep commitment to enriching the lives of students, particularly those of color. My journey spans roles in K-12 education as an adjunct in higher education and directing diverse programs to enhance student outcomes.

The "CORE" and "WHY" to my philosophy is empowering people of color to become change agents in their communities while fostering an environment of self-discovery and barrier reduction.
