Biography

Dr. Ja Ne't Rommero is a dynamic higher education leader and psychologist whose career bridges academic excellence, mental health advocacy, and social justice. A proud Southern California native, Dr. Rommero earned her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, followed by both her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.

Her professional journey spans community mental health, forensic settings, and private practice, where she has worked extensively with teens, couples, and families, particularly focusing on strengthening father-child relationships. Dr. Rommero's clinical and academic work is deeply informed by a commitment to equity, healing, and transformative learning.

She has served as a guest lecturer and panelist on topics including parenting, relationships, and mental wellness, and held part-time faculty roles at colleges and universities throughout Southern California. Most recently, she served as Program Director of General Education and the Center for Excellence at Pacific Oaks College, where she combined her love of learning with her passion for creating inclusive, empowering educational experiences.

Currently serving as Associate Vice President of Academic Effectiveness, Dr. Rommero leads institutional initiatives that promote student success, equity, and continuous improvement. Her leadership is rooted in data-informed decision-making, culturally responsive pedagogy, and a deep belief in the power of education to transform lives.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Rommero enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. She is also an avid swimmer. Her passions, for youth, relationships, and justice, continue to guide her work and inspire her vision for inclusive and impactful education.
