Dionne Clabaugh, Ed.D. has worked in education since 1982 and in higher education since 1999. In parent participation P-5th grade schools she was a teacher, director, volunteer, and school board member. In teacher education departments at Universities and Community Colleges she was a faculty member, department chair, grant coordinator, program reviewer, faculty adviser, and mentor to faculty and students.
Dr. Clabaugh develops capable people in education and human services using reflective practice and interactive interventions to develop self awareness, effective communication, and personal joy. Her teaching style and research focus on designing highly engaging learning experiences using constructivist and dialogue-based strategies in an autonomy-supportive learning environment, for deep learning and far transfer. Dionne loves most to collaborate on programs for students' and program success.
When not working, Dr. Clabaugh enjoys her family, organic gardening, yoga, cycling, and playing clarinet. She has been happily married for 25+ years and has two young adult children who share her passion for living musical and creative lives.
