A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Webster received her B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, where she gained research experience at the Fernald Child Study Center. As a student, and later as Project Manager, she participated in research examining the behavioral, social, and environmental correlates associated with ADHD in young children. While pursuing her doctorate in Psychology and Social Behavior at UC Irvine (majoring in Human Development, with a minor in Health Psychology), Dr. Webster was involved in research examining health behaviors in adolescents, referential communication in children with ADHD, and caregivers' concerns in the context of disclosure of the HIV status of the children in their care. In broadening her developmental scope, Dr. Webster's dissertation examined the dyadic adjustment processes between family caregivers and their elderly care recipients.
Dr. Webster has held numerous academic positions, in instruction and administration, at UC Irvine, California Graduate Institute, and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her current academic interests include development across the lifespan, the impact of the social and built environment on human behavior, program development and evaluation, research methodologies, and curriculum development and assessment. She is delighted to share her passion for the field of Human Development with her students and colleagues at Pacific Oaks College.
