Program Director, Doctor of Education in ECE
Dr. Judy Krause serves as Executive Director of Early Childhood Education Programs and Program Director for the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Early Childhood Education at Pacific Oaks College. As a leader in Higher Ed since 1989, Dr. Krause brings a hands-on, interpersonal leadership style grounded in the theory of connectivism; prioritizing collaboration and meaningful relationships. Her leadership is informed by decades of progressive experience in academic administration, curriculum development, and program innovation.
Dr. Krause designed, launched, and continues to oversee the nation's first Ed.D. program focused specifically on Early Childhood Education. She holds an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and led the development and implementation of Pacific Oaks College's first international micro-credential in Organizational Leadership in Educational Settings; a pioneering partnership with school leaders in Indonesia.
Before her current role, she served as Associate Dean in the School of Education, where she led strategic initiatives to strengthen PO's Education, Credentialing, and ECE programs. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Riverside County's Consortium for Early Learning Services and represents PO on Child Development Program Advisory Boards at Community Colleges throughout California.
Her research centers on developmentally and culturally appropriate pedagogy and leadership, and she is a frequent presenter of hands-on, interactive workshops at the national, state, and local level. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling along the coast with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren.
