Biography

Dr. Webster's love of education began before she completed her formal education while homeschooling her five children. She went on to work with several different independent study charter schools supporting other homeschool families. She completed training and became certified in teaching children with dyslexia and had a private practice for five years.

Dr. Webster also realized that she loved teaching and went back to school to be able to do that. She attended the University of the Pacific and earned a baccalaureate degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Special Education and an Education Specialist teaching credential (M/M).

After earning her teaching credential, Dr. Webster taught in K-12 education for 13 years at a prominent northern California school district. She continued her education at the University of San Francisco, where she received a fellowship and earned her doctorate in Learning and Instruction with a concentration in Special Education.

Dr. Webster has worked in higher education for the past fifteen years in teacher preparation programs for education specialists and multiple subject credential programs. As a literacy specialist, she enjoys teaching reading methods courses focusing on multisensory instruction. She has conducted numerous workshops on providing reading instruction for non-proficient readers, focusing on providing curricular access to all students. Dr. Webster's passion for supporting novice teachers is evidenced by her growth mindset (i.e., "can do!") and an infusion of UDL principles throughout her teaching
